Charles Garnes

CHARLES "CHARLIE" GARNES passed away Tuesday July 5, 2011 of Medina, OH. He was born March 6, 1931 in Charleston, WV to Jesse and Bertha Garnes. Charlie had many passions, and friends and loved by all. Surviving him are loving wife of 58 years, Pauline "Polly"; beloved daughter Debi (Joe) Scerca; son, Charles Jr. (Peggy); brother of James (Amelia); sister, the late Patsy Garnes Griffith. Cherished grandchildren: Mandy Adams (Jon) and Jillian. Adored great grandchildren: Austin, Ava and Kate. His faithful Pom dog named Sugar who stood guard and never left his side during his last days and weeks. Charlie proudly served his country in the Korean conflict. Purple Heart Recipient. Went from Industry to a respected teacher in the Cleveland City School District going above and beyond for each student. All services private.
