Gerald Currier

Gerald H "Jerry, Pop" Currier 81 of Elyria, passed away Thursday February 17, 2011.
 
Born in Henrietta Ohio in 1930.  Gerald retired from Ford Motor Company Brookpark where he had worked for over 30 years.  He graduated from Henrietta High School where he was in track and basketball.  After high school he raced stock cars from 1951 to 1957 and was also an avid race fan. He lived in Elyria for most of his life.  He was a member of the Amherst VFW Post 1662 and also Eagles post of Elyria. 
 
Mr. Currier is survived by his wife of 62 years Juanita (nee Feakins); daughter Gerrye (Allan) Weigl of Elyria, daughter Rhonda (husband Bruce Cohoon) Currier of Columbus Georgia, Sons Leon of Elyria,  Michael (Diane) of Chicago, Dale (Janie) of Elyria, 17 grand-children and 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Sisters Jean Straub of Strongsville, Joyce Glime of Birmingham, and Nancy Rossi of Sandusky.  He was proceeded in death by his parents Leon C. Currier, Helen D. (Dudley) Currier and brothers Walter A "Bud" Currier and Joseph L. Currier.
