Carolyn Davenport, of Brunswick Ohio, died Sunday, December 15, 2024. Carolyn was born February 25, 1942, in Chicago, IL. Her final days were comfortable and her passing peaceful.
Carolyn is survived by her son Gary Jacobson (Jason Hamilton), of Rock Hill, SC, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brother Jim (Jan) Davenport, of Tucson, AZ; Jim and Jan played a significant role in enriching Carolyn’s life in many ways for many years and she was grateful to have seen them both shortly before her passing. Carolyn also leaves behind Jack Mentel, her companion for the better part of a decade. Carolyn’s final years were made full and rich through Jack’s love, affection, and the company of both him and his family.
Carolyn was artistic, irascible, fun-loving, and above all unique. She lived life on her own terms and met her mortality on those same terms. All that Carolyn was will be missed, but her memory will be carried in to the future by all who knew her.
Carolyn did not desire a memorial service. Donations to honor her memory may be made to the Cleveland Museum of Art, Baldwin-Wallace University, or charity of your choice.

My dear precious Carolyn, I cannot believe you are gone, and I know it will be to heaven. I love you and will miss all the special times we shared together, and for a while just watching movies laughing talking and sharing whatever was going on with us. We both were pretty feisty ladies but loved each other. We used to go all over the place and did so much together. I shall never forget you and will never stop missing you. God rest in peace my dear friend. With hugs and love Pam.
