As we are going through the holiday season, it is impossible not to think of her. She loved the holiday season. One of her favorite things to do was to watch Christmas movies, but she truly loved to give and help whenever she could. She had a passion for cooking, which she shared with her children. She would always be the last one to eat during the holidays, because she made sure everyone was cared for before she would sit down. Anyone in her community that did not have a place to go, always had a place at her table and they knew it. She truly cared for all those in her life.
I am sure that there are many people in this room that have been personally touched by Cathie in some way. Keep her in your heart as you spread kindness this holiday season, as she would have.
Along with her passion for giving, she loved spending time in nature with her family and her dog Lucy. As most of you know, she truly enjoyed walking in the woods. That time was spent getting more in touch with her spirituality. She specifically shared a bond with red-tail hawks. She would search the woods for them, and she loved to find their feathers.
Her Children and Grandchildren were her life, and they all know it. Each of them have fond memories, some were shared and some were personal. They cherish these memories and strive to match her ability to love unconditionally. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. We all know that she is in heaven and her long journey of suffering is over. Now she is watching over all of us as a guardian angel.
