Christine Turk

Turk

Christine Turk, Age 60, affectionately known as Gobbie to her grandchildren, passed away too
soon. Born January 14, 1962, in Parma, Ohio, she died at home on October 31, 2022, in
Cleveland, Ohio. She is the daughter of Daniel and Jane (nee Dorko, deceased). She is
survived by her father, Daniel of Findlay, Ohio, daughter Danielle of Cleveland, and
grandchildren, Anela, Shogun, Takara, Ronin, River, and brothers Daniel (Stacy) of Bay St
Louis, Mississippi, David (Dawn) of Findlay Ohio and Jeffrey (Kim) of Alma, Michigan.

Christine attended Normandy High School in Parma and received her BSN in nursing from Cleveland
State University, going on to become a U.S. Army nurse in Hawaii. She was dedicated and
enjoyed her profession, striving to be the best nurse she could be. Unfortunately, her Army
career was cut short after the onset of a mystery illness, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS),
sensitivity to a wide range of chemicals found in everyday objects and the environment. It was
not diagnosed until several years later and persisted throughout her life. An unfortunate
encounter with ticks during an extended camping trip added Lyme disease to her troubles.
Being unable to work or attend family gatherings kept her isolated much of the time. She loved
her family, animals, traveling, and nature, but she especially loved spending time with her
grandchildren. She supported and donated to many environmental causes. Her favorite places
were the woods, the beach, and the mountains. She loved traveling and was most fond of shell
hunting and hiking. She had a passion for music and shared tunes with others regularly. A
contagious laugh with a twist of dark humor endeared her to family and friends.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.
