Clayton Allen “Abe” Birchler 76 passed away June 20, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Clayton “Abe” was born on October 6, 1935 in Evansville, IN. Graduate of Memorial High School Class of 1953. Husband of Dayan for 32 years. Father of Jeff, Jerry and Kimberly Williams and step father of Scott. Son of the late Dennis and Anna Catherine Birchler. Brother of the late Norma Jean Schneider. Grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 3.
Clayton “Abe” lived life as he wanted, traveled the United States by tractor & trailer. He loved people and being the life of the party. He loved horses and has many ribbons as proof. Longtime member of VFW 9340 of Columbia Station. Also longtime member of the Eagles and served as their chaplain in 2011.

I was class mate of Clayton at St Joe school. he had a pony and wagon back then. we wud ride it down to pigeon creek on stringtown rd and go swimming. I worked in trucking too at TIME-DC. was driver supv., seems like he made some runs for us as extra drvr. he was well liked. i went to memorial too class of 1953
