It was an honor and a privilege to know and work with Derk. He taught me everything I know about vinyl heat stabilizers and I will be forever grateful to him for that. I enjoyed being with Derk and learning about his travels. Rest in peace, my friend.
I also have very fond memories of Derk while working for and with him at Ferro Chemical. I learned a lot from him, not only about chemistry but about life in general. He truly was a kind and caring individual and I have to say, gave me a wonderful impression of the Dutch which I still have today.
It was a distinct pleasure to work with Derk and to work for Derk and play golf with him while at Ferro Chemical in Bedford. He was always a gentleman in his dealings with people. One rarely sees ‘class’ any more in a person, but Derk had it.
Goodbye Derk.
Larry
I’ve met your father a few times in the Netherlands where he visited your mother.
It was a nice man and he prepared a perfect steak for us.
He will have a beautiful place in heaven!
