DONALD EDWARD BECK, 87, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 4th, 2021. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at St. Mary’s of the Falls Church at 25615 Bagley Road, Olmsted Falls, Ohio 44138.
DON was born on February 20, 1934 in Parma, Ohio. In his younger years he and his family lived for a time in Ohio City, moving then to Cleveland Heights. After he was married, he and Barbara moved to Old Brooklyn in the South Hills area of Cleveland to raise their family.
Our Dad had many loves, but his greatest love was his wife Barbara (deceased). There were no boundaries to the love he had for his children, Lori, Cindy, Donna and Donald, as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his own siblings no matter where they were. He loved Family, Truck Driving (he was a proud Teamster to the end), the Great Lakes, Montana and helping anyone! He was humble and appreciative every day of his life. He never took a day for granted, and each and every day, showed us how to get up and try! He was funny, cool, witty and a slight bit sarcastic. He could be having the hardest day, but through it all somehow, he’d find a way to make someone else smile. He was a mentor to those he loved and found ways to make them feel special. Most importantly, he was sentimental – he just loved LOVING, and had the biggest heart. We are so proud to say our Dad was a Dad to everyone!
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (née Fleming), brothers Richard Beck, Henry (Bud) Beck, Gerald (Jerry) Beck, sisters, Dolores Beck DelSesto and Judith (Judy) Beck Lolli.
He is survived by his Sister, Kathleen (Kathy) Blair-Schepens, Daughters: Lori Beck Yedlick (John), Cindy Van Stavern (Jerry), Donna Beck Stokowski (SJLMD J), and Son: Donald E. Beck, Jr. (Marianne). Grandchildren: Bob Musca III, (Genesis), David Poprocky, Jr., Lani Sykora (Lorne), Kyle Beck (LizBeth), TJ Solin, Bethany Byler (John), Amanda Van Stavern (Nathan Betzner), Samantha Stokowski (Tim Beltitus), Austin Stokowski, Donald E. Beck, III, Danny Beck and Ally Beck. Great Grandchildren: Aubrey Musca, Conley Sykora, Callen Sykora, Logan Beck, Landon Beck, Layton Beck, Evelyn Byler, Benjamin Byler and Christopher Byler.
Memorial Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to: Disabled American Veterans (dav.org), Cleveland Alzheimers Disease Research Center (clevelandadrc.org) or the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
