Eddie Ellington age 69, of Cleveland, OH passed away on April 29, 2017 from a long fight with lung cancer. There will be a memorial service however, it is still to be determined. Eddie was born on November 21, 1947 in Hardaway, AL to Jane Ellington-Scales (deceased) and Eddie Edward Parker (deceased).
During the chapters of his life, he enjoyed a career as a diesel mechanic, fishing, traveling, and retelling stories. He always had a joke for you, he loved to laugh. Helping others and spending time with animals was his passion. The name “Rooney” came from his mom and he loved his family and friends he believed that family was important and that we always had to be there for each other. That was his biggest priority family had to stick together.

One Chapter of his life he was a part of the Omen’s Motorcycle club. He called himself “Fly”. He created the very first patch for the Omen’s jackets. He was very good with his hands, very talented, he could even draw a portrait of you. If he can see it he could build it. When the idea came to his head he could build anything.
He always had words of encouragement he would say “Be true to yourself and don’t be afraid to be who you are. Don’t let others change who you are or how you choose to live your life, do what makes you Happy. It’s your life and never look down on anyone, always help someone.”

Eddie was preceded in death by his 2 brothers (deceased) Melvin Scales and Penny Ellington. He is survived by his daughter Malinda Hardges and son Ronald Hardges, Granddaughters Valencia, Sabrina and Jazzmine Hardges. Great-grandchildren Marlyncia and Drew Hardges. Five sisters Janice Thomas, Balaregene Scales, Tonyia Jones, Yolanda Scales, Brenda Scales and many other family and friends.
