Gerald S. Wahl, D.D.S., age 88, of Strongsville, Ohio, and Chautauqua, New York, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2019. Beloved husband for 60 years of Phyllis (nee Lally); dearest father of Roberta Wahl (Nenad Barackov), Monica Shaffer (John), William Wahl (Shari Fox), Melanie Petras (Michael), Amy Stark, and Jim Wahl (Stefanie Milewski); cherished Grandpa to Stella Barackov, Claire & Matthew Shaffer, Natalie & Andy Wahl, Michael Anthony, Cristina & Andrew Petras, William & Robert Stark, and Ava Wahl. “Dr. Jerry” received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from Western Reserve University. He served in combat in the United States Army in Korea. His first dental practice was in Shelby, Ohio, but after four years he opened an office in Strongsville, where he practiced for thirty-one years. Jerry enjoyed skiing, sailing, tennis, and playing Hearts, especially with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be at St. Joseph Church (12700 Pearl Rd., Strongsville) on Friday, December 6, from 9:00 – 10:00 am, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, also at St. Joseph Church. After the mass there will be a luncheon to celebrate Jerry’s life at the Ledgewood Clubhouse until 1:00 pm. Following the luncheon, burial is to be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, Medina County, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to a charity of your choice.
