James (Big Jim) Adams, Jr., 72 of Garfield Heights, formerly of Logan WV passed away on February 14, 2020.
He was born in Cleveland, OH on May 20, 1947 to the late James and Helen (née Murphy) Adams. He was also preceded in death by brothers John, Michael, and Eugene Adams, sister, Janet Beard and surrogate son Arthur Beard.
Jim worked at the post office and the coal mines and ended his career as owner of T & J Masonry.
He was a disabled veteran of the Vietnam war. He was awarded the following medals; Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze stars, Republic Vietnam Campaign with 1960 Device and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross.
Jim enjoyed people, never met a stranger and loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Constance, daughter, Tira (Darran) Adams, sons Jevon (Bridgette) Adams, Nathaniel Beard, 13 grandchildren, Kiara, Janet, Janay, Nathaniel, Danyl, Jasmine, Jaonna, Akeelah, Jeki, Kyson, Kyree and Jael, 3 great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Adrian and Geneva.
Per his request he has been cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
