James Barnes

James “Jim” Barnes, age 95 passed away, peacefully Sunday June 23rd. He was the son of James E Barnes and Eleanor (nee McIvor) and brother of Jean (John Kelly) and Sharon, Barnes (both deceased). Beloved husband of Corinne (Raddatz Frate). Family Debbie (deceased) Finamore Jim Frate (Mary)Cindy Beecher, Ken Frate Lisa Frate, and Laura Smoley. Father of Ellen (Tim Pfiffner) Kathleen Gaertner and Pattie Simcic. Grandfather of twelve great grandfather of eleven an great great grandfather of two. Jim was born in the Cleveland area and attended Shaw High School. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and served as a Corporal during the Korean conflict. He worked in the building trades and started as an apprentice brick layer and retired as a commercial construction estimator. He made his home in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. He spent his winters in Largo Florida. He enjoyed travel, sports, singing, cycling, line dancing.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 11:00AM at the Body of Christ Church, 38051 Erie Road, Willoughby, OH 44094. In lieu if flowers a contribution to the Salvation Army in Jim’s name would be appreciated.
