Jay Reid, age 67 of Berea, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on Friday May 3, 2024.  He was born May 10, 1956 in Lorain Ohio to Ray and Gerry (nee O’Brien) Reid.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Karen (nee Snyder); their children Lauren (Tyson) Brown and Alex; three grandchildren Nash, Penelope and Eliot Brown. He was preceded in death by his son Eric.  Jay’s siblings include: Phil (Joyce) Reid of Smyrna, Georgia, Halle Holland (deceased), Robbie (Jim) Bruewer of Avon, Ohio and Jeff Reid of Creston, Ohio. Brother in laws include Rich Holland and Stephen Snyder. Survivors also include many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jay graduated from Westlake High School in 1975.  He started his career as a machinist at Precision Industries, then at Kirkwood Industries. In 1997 he took a different path and managed Riverside Golf Club until December 2003. Late 2005, Jay started in the Building and Grounds Dept at Baldwin Wallace University.
Jay was an easy going guy.  He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, motorcycles, music, and playing the guitar. He was also a collector of trinkets big and small that he tinkered with in the garage. Along with his witty remarks, he had a great sense of humor. Jay will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
