Kenneth “Zeke” Speck Jr.

Speck Kenneth Photo

Ken Speck, Jr., better known to his family as Tinker and to his friends as Zeke, was born to Ken and Nancy (nee’ Timney) Speck. He was the middle child and only son. He has two older sisters, Jeanne (Frank) Falat and Kathy (Jim) Stevenson, as well as two younger sisters, Jenny (Tom-deceased) Keppler and Martha (Chuck) Widdowson. Uncle Zeke has three nieces, Kris (Falat) Murphy, Juli (Falat) Feighan, and Diana (Falat) Konopka, as well as three nephews, Frank Falat, Tom Keppler, Jr., and Scott Widdowson. He was also a wonderful uncle to Derek and Haley Karr, and their dogs, Libby, who lived next door.

Zeke has countless friends. It seems as if, wherever you go, somebody knows him. He loved fishing, boating, camping, snowmobiling, racing, riding his motorcycle (only if it was perfect weather), barbecuing, whiskey, having fun, and making people laugh. Mostly, he loved hanging out with friends and family.

He became ill with pneumonia and died from complications on Saturday, August 27th. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially those closest to him: Dan, Tony, Scott, Ron, Howard, Mark, Eric, and many, many more.

Rest in peace. The world was a much better place with you in it and will never be the same again.

Ken serviced our pool. Always, always made sure it was perfect. We will surely miss him. He was a very kind and wonderful man.

Dear Martha — Went to leave you a birthday wish and, sadly, came across this notice. Had no idea. We, too, are shocked and saddened. Instantly thought of the time over his house on Webster with the cookout, riding the various modes of transportation all over the yard, and putting our cooler too close to the fire to have it melt. And then the fireworks. Such a fun evening. Hang onto the good memories — that’ll keep him close. And again, we’re so sorry.

From the entertaining little brother to the kind hearted man he became. Generous host, party lover, good to his family and friends. How I will remember Tinker. God has a great Life Guard on his team. My sympathies and love to the Speck family.
