Leonard Rodney Mitchell passed away peacefully on February 11, 2019. Leonard was born in Cleveland Ohio on September 25, 1939 to the late Clara Victoria and Rueben Lee Mitchell. He was the fourth of seven children.
He graduated from East Technical High School and served in the United States Army 1958-1962.
Known as “Mitch”, his greatest joys in life were spending his days fishing with his friends throughout the US and Canada along with boating on Lake Erie. He will be missed greatly and was loved by all who knew him.
Leonard is survived by his daughter Kimberly Mitchell Sarden of Houston TX, son Len Mitchell (Rachel) of Minneapolis MN, granddaughter Jade Sarden, and one surviving sister Marie Hamilton. He was a beloved uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, and loved by numerous relatives.
He had many lifelong friends and leaves behind not only his family but a life well lived.
Per Leonard’s wishes, the family will not be holding a service yet encourage all those who loved him to not mourn his death, but to celebrate his life, as he certainly did.

Kim, Len and family,
I would like to express my sincere condolences and love to my amazing friend Kim and the Mitchell family.
For over 37 years, I’ve had the pleasure of spending lots of quality time with you… at the house, cousin’s houses and on the boat, times I’ll treasure forever.
I am here for you.
Love always,
