Maria Luisa Gonzalez

Maria Luisa Gonzalez, long time resident of Cleveland, Ohio, died Thursday, April 20th.

Born December 27, 1934 in Comerio, Puerto Rico, Maria came to the United States in 1957 as a young wife and mother. She was a strong, determined, hard-working woman who ultimately raised four children by her own strength. Maria was a kind, giving and spiritual person who helped anyone in need. If you had her as a friend, you had a friend for life.

Maria was an excellent cook and earned a living cooking at Lutheran Medical Center where she worked until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by three older brothers and one younger brother.

She is survived by her four children, Domingo Fontanez, Jr.; Jose Fontanez, Sr.; Daniel Fontanez; and Sonia Quinones; three brothers, Agusto; Manuel; and Angel; one sister, Sarita; one son-in-law; one daughter-in-law; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many good friends, all of whom loved Maria dearly.

Memorial donations will be appreciated.

A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 26th.
