Ora Belle Lindsey Smith known to many of her closest family and friends as simply “Belle” was born in Hamburg Arkansas on July 2, 1933 to Daisy Kellogg (Big Ma) and Woody Harrison. Her siblings include Robert (Bob) Harrison, Ruth Mae (Harrison) Royster, Gertrude (Harrison) Evans, Ida Belle (Freeman) Lenior, and Mable Freeman. Ora Belle excepted Jesus Christ at an early age being baptized and attending Robinson Chapel Church with Big Ma and her siblings. Ora Belle retired from General Electric after 33 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and especially her dog Pierre. She had a green thumb as evidenced by the beautiful plants that adorned her home. Belle also loved QVC which was explained why she had the nickname “Jazzy Belle”. Most of all, Belle loved her children unconditionally. She sacrificed greatly to everyone she loved and often put herself last. Ora Belle met and married Johnny Lee Lindsey Sr. To this union three children were born Dianna (Frizzell), Rona (Ronnie) Lee (Harris), Johnny Lee Jr. (Pookie). She later married Lee Willie Smith and became a maternal figure to his three children Lee Jr., Mark, and Wanda. Belle is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Ruth, Gertrude and Mable, and husbands Johnny and Lee. She leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings, Robert and Ida Belle, her children, Dianna, Ms. Ronnie, Johnny Jr, Lee Jr., Mark, and Wanda, her grandchildren, Willie Bernard Harris, LaMarr Davis Sr. (Elenora), Jasmin Davis-Maddox (Benjamin), Demetrius Jones, greatgrandchildren James Wingfield, Rashon, and Maya Harris, LaMarr Davis Jr., Kyeland Raiden Harris and Ava Maddox, and great-great grandchildren James Jr., Brooke, and Rylee Wingfield and Lailah Davis, and a host of family and loved ones.
The Family of Ora Belle Lindsey Smith appreciates and acknowledges each and every thought, deed, phone calls, cards, prayers, and all acts of kindness shown to us in this trying time. Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
