Patricia Reust, age 76 of Olmsted Falls, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022 with Jason and Melissa by her side. Patty was born July 19, 1945 in Denver, CO.
Patty was small in stature, but her spirit, attitude and outlook were larger than life. She cared deeply for people, especially those who needed a little extra help. This was evident through her work with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Her work there began on a volunteer basis, but the love and passion she brought to the clients enabled her to obtain a full-time position. Her career was cut short in June of 2007 when she suffered a massive stroke. Despite the stroke leaving her paralyzed, along with the loss of her “Richard” in 2013, Patty was able to light up the room whenever she would enter. The last fifteen years were very hard for her, but even to her last breath she thanked God for her countless blessings, which is a lesson she left with everyone who knew her.
Patty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her sons Jason (Melissa) and Bradley, and four grandchildren, Derrik, Chloe, Jacob & Madison.
A Memorial and Celebration of Patty’s life will take place at Holy Spirit Chapel in Avon Lake (410 Lear Road) on February 19, 2022 at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Checks should be made out to CCBDD and mailed to the attention of Elizabeth Day at 1275 Lakeside Avenue East, Cleveland, OH 44114-1129
