Roland Froelich, age 75, of Strongsville, Ohio passed away on August 16, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Robert L. and Fern (nee Ebner) Froelich. Roland was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 4, 1949.
Roland was a veteran of the US Navy and served in Vietnam (1966-1970). While enlisted Roland earned National Defense Medals, Vietnam Services Medal with five bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Navy Unit Commendation and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). After the military Roland was employed by American Greetings, Barger Metal Fabricating Co., and Quest Diagnostics. Roland later retired from Quest Diagnostics in 2019. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling, music (specifically Elvis), long drives, beer, practical jokes and touring the United States. Roland visited 49 of the 50 United States. Unfortunately, cancer prevented him from visiting his final destination, Alaska.
His memory will be cherished by his family: wife, Dorothy “Sharon” (nee Sargent), his daughters, Shawna (George) Serna and Melissa (Tom) Berger, grandchildren, Joshua and Isabella Serna, brother Roger (Sondra) Froelich, sister Fern (Donald) Bateman, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Fern Froelich, brother and sister-in-law Robert C. and Linda Froelich. Services will be private.
