Simone passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born in Montmorillon, France, on April 18, 1939.   Simone moved to Cleveland at the age of 20. She deeply cherished her heritage and instilled a love of French culture in her family.

She is survived by her husband, Doug; her daughters, Vicky (Kevin) Kuczynski and Marcie (Fred) Deemer; her beloved grandchildren, Sammy and Evan; and family in France. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took great joy in being their devoted Memé.

Those who knew Simone are invited to remember her in their own way, celebrating the love she gave and the resilience she carried throughout her life.

Her family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care she received at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center. Donations can be made in her memory to support their work.

  1. Bracha Goetz (Kushner) says:

Simone was such a special part of my childhood, and the memories we shared will stay with me forever. Almost every summer night from my adolescence through my teenage years, we would sit outside together, talking about everything from lighthearted gossip to life’s more serious challenges. She was always there to listen, to offer support, or simply to share a laugh. I’ll never forget our recipe swaps, long walks with those silly ankle weights, and the nights we laughed until it hurt. Simone was truly one of a kind—an absolute gem who will be deeply missed but never forgotten. My heartfelt condolences to Doug and the entire family.

  2. Yael tesler ( kushner) says:

I will always cherish Simone as my beloved and spunky neighbor. She had a great sense of humor. I have fantastic memories of the Blanche crew sitting outside on summer evenings chatting on Norines porch while Simone very bravely allowed me and my sister to do her hair and makeup. Simone loved it and so did we. She will be missed

  4. Florence Helluy-Tignol says:

    Tante Simone,
Dernière de ta fratrie, tu as maintenant rejoint Henri et Suzanne, pour poursuivre vos discussions là-haut, en gardant un œil sur nous. Tu restes confortablement installée dans nos cœurs.

    Aunt Simone,
You were the last of your siblings still with us, but you have now joined Henri and Suzanne, to continue your discussions up there, whilst still keeping an eye on us. As for us, your place in our hearts remains as big as ever.

  5. Marie-Andrée Perreau Hager says:

Simone was my sister’s (RIP)childhood friend in our hometown of Montmorillon, France, which endured all these years. Simone was kind and friendly. I had the pleasure of talking to her recently. She will be greatly missed. Amuses toi bien Simone, au ciel avec Françoise.
