Timothy E. Kanak, 51, passed away on June 14, 2023. He is survived by his sons, Javin (Hailey), Kade, Ian, and Landon; his sister, Roxanne; and his girlfriend, Joy. He was loved by many.
Tim was a devoted father who absolutely adored his children. He shared his love of sports with them and liked to brag about being a star quarterback in high school. You could often catch him sitting in his chair in the alley behind his apartment showing people the hundreds of photos he had of the boys, beaming with pride.
There is no one who kne more about presidential history. You could ask him to give you 10 facts about any president and he could do it with ease, even reciting the years the events occurred. He was also very passionate about animals. His business, Vets 4 Pets, centered around care and training of pets. Tim enjoyed feeding his flock of city birds every day. If you were lucky you could sometimes get an impromptu singing session, especially the songs of the Doors and the Beatles.
Tim was also a heavily decorated combat veteran who was one of the youngest Army Rangers. He did several tours and was awarded 2 purple hearts – one from President George H. Bush and one from President Bill Clinton. If you asked him about his time in the military, he was always very modest about his incredible stories.
Please join us to celebrate Tim’s extraordinary life on June 30, 2023 at 10:15 am. There will be a military funeral honors service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273. Please arrive 15 minutes before start time.

I wish our plans had worked out like they should have. We would have been married almost 3 years. I still have my ring! I prayed tonight that God granted you the grace and peace your soul longed for. I will always love, Tim. I always have…
My bud. My pal. So many years. We had a wonderful kind of Friendship with memories I well never forget. Thank you for being my friend. I’m going to miss you so much
Oh my Tim!!!! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you but never stopped loving you friend. You were one of a kind. May the lord keep your sons close as they navigate life with you no longer in the flesh but as their angel. Rest peacefully homie until we see you again. Xoxo
Not a day goes by that I don’t think about Tim. I love him with all of my heart and I hope that he has finally found peace
I am speechless… tbh
i won’t ever forget you. My heart will be heavy anytime i hear, these words
Here’s to the ones that we got
Cheers to the wish you were here, but you’re not
‘Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
Of everything we’ve been through
Toast to the ones here today
Toast to the ones that we lost on the way
‘Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
And the memories bring back, memories bring back you
Be the Angel over our boys and myself as we need now and always. Just as you have. Thank you for your kindness. I now have one regret. I did not know you better.
I will not forget Tim’s kindness towards people and animals. He was always very involved in his school and community, but always had time to help those around him. I’ve never known anyone with as many friends from all backgrounds and walks of life. You will be missed, but never forgotten. Many prayers of healing for his family.
