Velma T. Weichman

Velma T. Weichman (nee Wolack), age 97, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 3, 2023 after a long illness.  She was born on May 12, 1926 in St. Mary’s, PA. where she resided for 26 years and then moved to Lorain, Ohio in 1951.   She was employed at Lorain Products for 19 years where she retired in 1991.   Velma was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. loved playing bingo, and was an avid bowler at Sheffield Lanes and Rebman’s. She is survived by her children, Linda (Don) Friges of Valley City, OH, Edward (Carol) of Rock Hill, SC, Louis (Benita) of Albuquerque, NM, Steven (Connie) of Lexington, OH and Barbara (Mark) Arnold of Corpus Christi, TX, grandchildren Scott, Robin Ellison, Stacey Asvestas, Jeffrey, April, Adam, Holly Gatewood, Kale, Sarah Sherk, Emily, and Joseph, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, sisters Alice and Mary and brother Michael.

There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Martin of Tours Church in Valley City, OH on Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 am immediately followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon in the parish hall.  Interment will be private at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
