It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William David Erickson II (Dave) 68, of North Olmsted passed away on October 11th. Born in Dover, Delaware to the late William David Erickson and Sandra Daugherty, he spent his early years moving across the globe as a military brat (his words) from the Philippines to Holland, to the Mojave desert. Immersing himself in diverse cultures and creating the base of the many stories he would tell over the years of his life.
Always on the move, Dave had an entrepreneurial spirit that was unbreakable. Dave would always talk about different ways you could make a living, but never cared much for the money he earned. He’d sooner buy you dinner than think about buying himself something nice. Whether it was a couch to sleep on, or putting some food on their plate, Dave helped out many folks he crossed paths with. His drive and selfless nature will be sorely missed, and will live on in many of us.
When he wasn’t moving and shaking Dave was a devout christian with a tight knit community he grew with over the years at Grace Church. He was very involved at church providing guidance for those that needed it, and teaching others the gospel. His faith stayed with him on the road, often stopping at any little church on the side of the road on his drive home on a Sunday morning.
He is predeceased by Diane Erickson and survived by his brother Dale Erickson, and his four children Trey Erickson, Jill Erickson, Taylor Erickson, and Adrian Erickson who will cherish his memory and carry on his legacy.
A celebration of his life will be held on November 16, 2024 at Grace Church in Middleburg Heights, where friends and family are invited to share their memories and honor the incredible person he was. Calling hours will be 9:00am-10:00am, followed by a service 10:00am-11:00am and finally followed by reception 11:00am-1:00pm.

I never knew Dave even though we went to the same school in Germany. But we both share a bond of being a military BRAT and WARRIOR forever. RIP DAVE
Dave was a friend of mine from high school in Germany, and saw him at a high school reunion. Dave was a great and upbeat guy.
Dave was a wonderful person to know, always kidding around with you, good listening to his stories. A great friend. Rip my dear friend.
Dave was one of the best friends I had in college – and then thereafter in our mini-reunions. Had the most fun playing a round of golf several years ago with Dave. Never stopped saying funny things the entire 5 hours. I miss you, big guy.
I was so sad to hear about this! David was my cousin. We had reconnected when my mom was at Cleveland Clinic. I was at my mom’s bedside late one night at CC and long story short I posted on FB. David jumped in his car headed to CC to see my mom and I! This is the short version. Thank you lord for reconnecting us!!! HUGS to you all..!
I was a friend of David’s since our days attending Old Dominion. He never ceased to have me laughing whenever we would see each other for our ODU reunions or just talk. He was selfless and kind and we will be greatly missed. Heaven gained an angel. Rest sweetly my dear friend.
Dave was such a vibrant person and a dear, dear friend. He loved the beach, we walked it for miles and just talked. I will miss him forever.
